“Captain America” star Chris Evans has suffered a $1.01 million loss on his palatial Los Angeles mansion, selling the property for $5.38 million as he bids farewell to California and moves to the East Coast.
The 45-year-old actor initially listed the home for $6.99 million in May 2025. But after it languished on the market, Evans took the home off the market in November 2025.
Then, in June, the stunning property returned with a newly reduced asking price of $6.39 million, as well as a set of new images.
Just last week it was announced that Evans had found a buyer for his property. However, the house was still in the contingency phase, meaning an offer had been accepted and the sale was subject to certain conditions being met. At this point it was unclear what the offer was.
Now Realtor.com® can exclusively reveal that Evans sold the condo for $5.38 million – a discount of more than $1 million from its already discounted price.
Ahead of the relisting, Massachusetts native Evans, who has owned the home since 2013 when he purchased it for $3.52 million, told Realtor.com of his decision to leave the home, explaining that while he loves living in LA, it was time to return to the East Coast with his wife. Alba Baptistaand her daughter, Alma.
“The West Coast is beautiful and I spent more than a decade in this house enjoying Los Angeles,” he said. “But I’ve decided to spend more time on the East Coast. It seems like the right time to pass this beautiful property on to the next owner.”

Evans bought the property two years after his debut as Captain America and is said to have used the gym while preparing for many of his appearances as the beloved Marvel superhero.
During his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Evans appeared in eleven films before passing the iconic title to his successor Anthony Mackie.
In 2023, Evans justified his decision to step away from the franchise by saying he would “never say never” about returning but wanted to dedicate less time of his life to acting.
“I’ll never say never just because it was such a wonderful experience,” he told GQ. “But I also feel very precious about it. It’s something I’m very proud of. And like I said, sometimes I can’t believe it even happened.”
“And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it had nothing to do with the original thing. So there’s no time in a hurry. And ultimately, I really hope that maybe I act a little less in my life.”
