Ramp adds x402 payments for AI agents, expanding its agent funding reach as AWS and Stripe accelerate the agent payments race.
Today, Ramp Payments Inc Alpha launched For agents to make x402 payments through Ramp, linking USDC agent wallets to corporate spending controls, attribution and audit trails.
What is the scoop?
- x402 goes to companies: Ramp customers can fund agent wallets, then allow those agents to pay for x402 gateway resources on Solana. Payments remain linked to the company’s Ramp account, providing visibility into which agent spent money, what they purchased, and how the transaction should be accounted for.
- Building towards agent financing: The launch expands the scope of Ramp’s broader campaign to give AI agents controlled financial power. Previously sloped Agent cards launchedwhich allows agents to create highly restricted corporate card credentials, while… MCP and CLI Actually allowing assistants to interact with the company’s financials and workflows.
- Big week for agent payments: The Ramp rollout continues a busy week for agent payments. On Monday, AWS demonstrated Dealing agents Through Bedrock AgentCore Payments using x402 within user defined spending limits. Earlier this week, Stripe agreed to acquire OpenRouter for more than $8 billion, with heuristics emerging as one of the clearest use cases for proxy payments.
More than 35 million transactions have been settled on x402. So far, none of them have touched the company’s ledger.
Starting today, agents can now make payments via x402 on Ramp with built-in attribution and audit trails.
