Why is Las Vegas the top wedding destination in the world? The answer has nothing to do with the old-school glamor of a desert town or even an Elvis impersonator. It is actually more practical.
Clark County Marriage Licenses No pre-booked appointment is required and it’s instant, so couples can get married. On the same day A license is issued, which is extremely rare. Most states require the couple to wait at least 24 hours after the license is issued before allowing the ceremony. In addition, international visitors can legally marry in Las Vegas, requiring only a valid passport to obtain a license and a marriage certificate they can bring home with them. It’s all about convenience.
But just because Las Vegas weddings can be a convenient “signed, sealed, delivered” experience, that doesn’t mean that’s the only reason to visit. Likewise in New York City, there’s always something big going on, from Formula 1 to a concert at The Sphere and endless other entertainment. Consider this your guide to the revamped Vegas: where to stay, what to see, and how to eat, drink, and toast a long weekend in the desert, whether you’re planning an elopement, a full wedding ceremony, a bachelorette party, or a relaxing—yes, relaxing—few days.
when to go
Las Vegas is a year-round city, but the calendar rewards a little strategy. Spring and Autumn There are sweet spots: warm, sunny days in the 70s and 80s, cool evenings made for cocktails on rooftops, and the kind of golden light that flatters both wedding photos and afternoons by the pool.
The summer Some emotional preparation and logistical awareness are required. But it is completely doable. June through August routinely climbs above 100 degrees. Our own June visit hovered around 96 to 103 degrees, but coming from a NYC summer, the dry heat was very manageable. PLive your life around the pool in the morning and around the (happily air-conditioned) restaurants and lounges after dark.
winter It’s light and quiet, ideal if you want low rates and less crowds, although Las Vegas is a true desert, so expect temperatures to drop dramatically at night.
A Vegas-specific tip: Check the city’s events calendar—especially the convention calendar—before you book. A major trade show or sporting event can increase room rates, so a little advance research goes a long way. (During our stay, McDonald’s was one of the largest international conventions, with golden arches everywhere.) And if a wedding is the reason for the trip, know that the indoor-outdoor flexibility of the major resorts means almost any season works, so you’ll never be at the mercy of the weather here.

Resorts World The anchor of the new moment of the northern belt and is a smart home base. The sprawling complex has three hotels under one roof—the Las Vegas Hilton, the Conrad, and the ultra-exclusive Crockfords—so you can dial the experience up or down without changing your address. We’re particular fans of the latter two, which feature Byredo bath products, an in-room theragon, and gorgeous city views. THe is the crown jewel of the resort a 5.5 acre pool complex with seven separate poolsIncluding infinity edge with strip waves.
Wayne It remains the gold standard for impeccable service, some of the city’s best restaurants, and modern yet welcoming design. Bellagio Will always be synonymous with Vegas.: The famous fountain show, Cirque du Soleil, the conservatory—plus it now houses the Carbon Riviera restaurant, complete with a speedboat that crosses the fountain.
For those who want to relax, perhaps during a bachelorette trip, Arya Offers the world’s largest Forbes five-star spa—proving that you can truly relax in Las Vegas. And Datess blush suites were made for a girls trip. Olivia Culpo and her bridal party stayed there before walking down the aisle in Rhode Island.
And finally, for guests who want to stay in Las Vegas but don’t necessarily want to be in the heart of a casino. four seasons A non-smoking and non-gaming property with a private entrance and beautiful art deco pool.
Where to say “I do”
Over-the-moon couples are long running and making the most of civil ceremonies in Las Vegas, so we’re highlighting two of the most popular chapels for each other with a special sound that doubles as a work of art.
A Little White Chapel had to make the list. J. Lo and Ben Affleck got married here, and so have many over-the-moon couples. OTM bride Samantha Ruiz and Danielle Williams profess their love for each other here (with Elvis as their witness) before heading to a big ceremony in Puglia. “We had no idea what to expect from an Elvis impersonator, but it was. Actually The perfect blend between fun, light hearted and emotional,” shares Samantha. A mixture of attention and wonder. Elvis forgets his name, Dean’s nephew describes it as the world’s smallest alley, and Dean presents him with a recreation of his mother’s engagement ring. “The day completely exceeded our expectations.”
The Chapel of the Bells is where OTM bride and comedian Grace Helbig said, “I do,” to Elliott Morgan. “We found out a few hours ago (that) we were supposed to take the vows, which Elliott prepared, but I forgot and ended up off the top of my head in the moment,” Helbig shares. The officer, named Steve, launches into a long, unintentionally hilarious monologue about the ups and downs of marriage and even weaves in his past relationship problems. “It was confusing and beautiful, and we hope he’s doing well.”
While no OTM pairs have yet walked its aisle. Till Death Do Us Part Chapel at The Palms, it deserves a special mention. The brainchild of Guatemalan-American artist Joshua Wides, the black-and-white immersive chapel features a 2D design on its 800-square-foot space, complete with real benches. It’s available for actual wedding ceremonies or portrait sessions, and for the art-loving couple, it’s a must-see.

Las Vegas has quickly become a dining destination. With impossible-to-get reservations from New York City — like Carbone and soon The Corner Store — along with an endless list of Michelin-starred chefs bringing their talents to the strip, you’re guaranteed to eat well in Vegas.
Scotch 80 Prime at the Palms What a modern Vegas steakhouse has done right: an upscale, art-filled dining room, an exceptional wine program, and steaks that justify the splurge. It’s a great choice for a celebratory first night. And don’t miss the stall in the middle of the ladies’ room; It is an experience like no other.
While the newest Carbon Riviera at Bellagio brings a taste of the Italian coast to Vegas, we still love the OG. Carbon in Arya For classics like the world famous ragatoni. Non-New Yorkers may not even realize how lucky they are to get a reservation at this hot spot.
Also London is famous in Arya. Gymkhana. The UK restaurant was awarded two prestigious Michelin stars, and both locations feature a predominantly North Indian menu.
Looking back at London Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio It was decorated by Martin Brudinski, the same interior designer behind the ultra Instagrammable private members club Annabelle’s. Vegas restaurants There’s easily a grand finale to a night: an immersive dinner and a show that combines fine dining, live performances, and old Hollywood glamour, all with a view of the Bellagio fountains.
where to drink
Cherry Roof at Paris Las Vegas The sunset is moving. Located under the resort’s half-scale Eiffel Tower, this chic terrace offers sweeping views of the Strip with a French-inclined cocktail list—arriving as the skyline bends and lingering as the light comes on.
Pinky color in Bellagio Bruno Mars has a 1970s-inspired cocktail lounge, and it’s just as cool as it sounds: a warm, velvet-and-brass room, expertly crafted drinks, and live music that turns a nightcap into an event. The “Uptown Funk” singer is also said to sometimes show up late at night at his favorite backbooth to watch his brother play in the band.
