The latest two WooCommerce Bookings updates introduce exciting improvements for sellers. You can now import and export booking data without developer assistance, the calendar only shows bookable dates and the booking form is more accessible. View an overview of all changes below.
By Bookings > All bookingsyou can now export bookings as a CSV file. Filter by product, status or date range, select the columns you want to include and download the file. The import button on the same screen allows you to upload bookings, assign columns to the appropriate fields and view a results log for confirmation.
If you migrate to WooCommerce Bookings from another system, you can import existing reservations without manual input. You can also export booking data or transfer data to other tools if necessary, all without the need for customization.
The calendar hides dates on which you cannot book
The calendar now only displays dates that meet your minimum availability requirement, making it easier for customers to find bookable dates and complete their reservations without interruption. This update mainly benefits group and personal bookings that require a minimum group size or capacity.
Calendar navigation labels are now clearer. The date picker provides improved guidance for assistive technologies, and time slot selections are more accessible to screen readers. These changes make it easier for customers using assistive technology to navigate the calendar and select available dates.
When a customer opened the booking calendar, WooCommerce performed one database query per existing booking. A store with hundreds of active bookings ran hundreds of queries to load one calendar. Now it checks all booked time slots with a single search.
High-volume booking companies, such as fitness studios or tour operators with many active products, now experience improved load times and fewer timeouts during peak periods.
- Prices are now updated to match the selected date, even when customers change dates or book multiple products from one page.
- The product editor now shows the correct time when your store’s admin time zone differs from the site’s time zone.
- Bookings now automatically follow your site’s time zone. The separate ‘Enable time zone calculation for bookings’ switch has been removed as it is no longer needed.
- For high-volume stores, a developer snippet is available to reduce initial load availability calculation time by approximately 30%. This does not yet apply to products with a monthly term or automatic allocation of funds.
- Custom URLs for booking pages now appear in confirmation emails and pagination links, not just on the booking page.
Update to the latest version of WooCommerce Bookings from your WooCommerce dashboard below Plugins > Installed plugins or WooCommerce > Extensions.
This update includes changes to frontend templates. If you or your agency use custom booking template overrides, check them after updating to make sure they include the new accessibility improvements.
